My ld is 8 been a bit of hooks for a few days nothing bad but this morning sent home from school with chronic tummy pain, now his face is swollen like a hamster, he seems ok ish in himself, is it still a case of riding it out and keeping off school or do I need gp to confirm?

Thanks

Has he had the MMR? Definitely contact your GP ASAP!

Ah, poor love. Very painful if it is mumps. Gps do like to swab for it because it's a notifiable disease.

My nest mates son has mumps ATM, must be doing the rounds..Sad

He's had his mmr (he also managed to catch whooping cough despite being jabbed)
I'll contact gp first thing, he has cp and hydrocephalus so it's hard with the other symptoms as he is always fatigued, having joint pain etc

Dr has swabbed and says probably is and she's seen a lot recently!

I had mumps as a teenager even though I was fully vaccinated - hope he starts to feel better soon!
