Hi I have an 8 month old baby and need opinions please.
He's had a sore thrOat since the 26th of august, I had taken him to gp then couple weeks later took him to a&e. then turnt into tosilites around the 19th and again went to a&e was given antibotics for 1 week 5ml for 3 times a day finished a week later on the Sunday.. all them other times I took him gp I was told it's just a sore throat and that it's normal. So I asked saying it's been forever and it's not going! Was replied with even if it takes 2/3 months because he's well and smiley it's fine. I'm concerned because his whole mouth looks so bad and im being told it's normal! Then this has followed up with a rash.. again took him to a&e and was told he looks happy and fine. Witch okay I do agree with but this isn't a healthy mouth to see on an 8 month old but didn't comment and left saying ok. Starting to really worry for my baby's mouth it looks really sore. does anybody know what this is or experienced with this before is it normal and when will it go please help.

Looks like oral thrush. The nurse should be able to prescribe drops to treat it.

ImInACage · 11/10/2021 01:05

That looks like thrush to me. You could try the pharmacist, they'll know if it is or isn't.

I don't agree because the gp said that but a&e told me the rash it a viral infection. Its so confusing because no one seems to see what it is

Could be Hand Foot & Mouth. Fairly common.

TheLastLonelyBakedBeanInTheTin · 11/10/2021 01:40

Looks like hand foot and mouth and thrush.

CharleyMarley · 11/10/2021 01:47

Hand, foot and mouth.

My child was also mis-diagnosed with herpes. But it was hand, foot and mouth.

Brusselsprouts21 · 11/10/2021 02:25

Sounds a lot like hand, foot & mouth. Speak to your GP again and inform them you think this could be it.

Yeah I have informed but I'm still being told no it's not he's fine and that it's really normal for this to be like this I feel like it's not I think it's hand foot and mouth along with a thrush. Does anyone know if there is a treatment for hand foot and mouth because I've been told even if it is hand foot and mouth it goes away alone and it's been 7 weeks and it hasn't?? X
