6 year bleeding gums/teeth when brushing

We make sure DS6 brushes twice a day, he never drinks sugary drinks (only water) and doesn't eat much sweets etc. His teeth have been in perfect shape however in the last week when we've helped brush his teeth before bed there's been a bit of blood. Not sure if it's from his gums or teeth.

He had a dental checkup about 6 months ago and all looked good, dentist said his milk teeth should be getting ready to fall out soon.

So is bleeding when brushing a sign that might be happening? Or should I make a dentist appointment tomorrow to investigate?

My DDs gums bled briefly at about the same age when she had some wobbly teeth and I just assumed it was from that, as she also had a recent check up. The teeth came out and her gums have never bled since.

@BettyOBarley that's reassuring to hear. I'm hoping it's just that, might give our dentist a call in the morning to check too!
