Ulcer?

Hi, my little boy is 14 months & woke up this morning with this on his lip (attached a picture) is it a cold sore? Ulcer? Spot?

Just for a backstory, MIL took him last weekend & failed to tell us her youngest had covid, MIL also suffers from cold sores all the time and we tell her not to kiss him so concerned it's either a covid symptom (awaiting results) or she's gave him a cold sore.

Ulcer?

Looks like a cold sore, make sure you get it treated as soon as you can.

Thank you, where do I go to get it treated? GP or just a Pharmacy?

Pharmacy as a first stop and if they're unhelpful then Nurse at the Surgery.

Dont take him to a pharmacy if he’s been in close contact and is awaiting a PCR test result. Cold sores are often activated when the person has another illness which may be the case here. You could take a picture in. I’d also have a good look in his mouth and on his hands and feet for any more blisters/ ulcers/ red patches as hand foot and mouth is doing the rounds too. I’d be cross if that was my MIL!

No I wouldn't take him in whilst still awaiting PCR results, he had a negative result thankfully. I've checked all inside his mouth/feet/hands and nothing else there just whatever is on his lip. I'm really annoyed as it's not the first time she hasn't respected our wishes as parents, she'll no longer be having him again alone as she can't be trusted
