Lo is 22 months. 2 weeks ago he started with a tummy bug, only sick twice but lots of loose nappies. It went on for almost a week before the bug seemed to have gone. Then after 5 days he started with loose nappies again and has since had at least one every other day. What could be causing it? Should I contact the gp? He's still eating as normal and drinking plenty. He is having tummy pain on and off and lots of wind. Thanks.

Sometimes you can get temporary lactose intolerance after a bug or antibiotics. Might be that.

Would I need to take him to the doctors for that or just leave him and he'll grow out of it?

Switch to lactose free cow's milk and yoghurt for a few days (hard cheese is ok, has very little lactose in) and avoid custard, cream etc and see if it improves. It's usually temporary.

I would put a call in to the GP anyway.
