Cough & runny nose since June!

Hi,

My almost 2 year old had a cold in June, runny nose, cough that turned her stomach as coughing so much. It seemed to settle down after about three weeks then within days, started back again. It has been a constant cycle like this, lingering on.
Feel as if it has never fully went away, always wiping her nose. We were at the park last week and all of a sudden her nose started running again and by night back to coughing. The cough keeps her awake at night, turns her stomach, nothing helps. Tried all the tricks, propped up, vapour rub on feet etc.

Been tested for Coronavirus several times, was at GP last week again who listened to her chest in between her cries and it sounded fine. They keep blaming it on a virus but we haven't even really been out anywhere as not getting a break from this.

I feel something more to it? Anyone else experience this? I'm exhausted with lack of sleep too and so is she.

Thanks!

My one year old is the same but he goes to nursery so just picks up every bug that goes around. Does your daughter put everything in their mouth?...that could be how she's catching viruses.

Our 3yr old had similar, and after different antibiotics etc, the Dr tried Piriton Suspension, it really helps, it could be a type of hayfever. You could try that, and see if things improve ,

She doesn't put things in her mouth and not at nursery yet. Hoping it just clears for good soon!

@Mar62 oh that is interesting as when we were at the park her nose just started running and then it all began again and feel as if it's always when we are outside it happens as rarely been mixing indoors with anyone. I wondered if it was an allergy to something and thought about hay-fever! Thank you, I'll see if I can try Piriton with her as it really does sound like it might do the trick!
