Hey I'm looking for advice,
My little one has had 4 ear infections in the past 6 months and has been referred to ent, my dh went to the doctors appointment that they said they would refer her in.
As you can imagine he's a nightmare for passing on info !
So now I'm a little worried
Has anyone been referred before ?

And what happens now :)?

You’ll get an appointment for ENT and meet with the dr - what’s the question?

The hospital will get in touch with an appointment. It may take some time though.

My question is what happens at ENT ?
She's had few ear infections in a small period of time so I'm just wondering what to expect .
My oh said they would give her a hearing test is this routine ?
I'm not worried about her hearing as she can here a snack open 20 miles away 😅

It's routine to do hearing tests with this sort of history. Without knowing your daughter's history we can't be more specific but amongst other things, they will likely be checking for glue ear. Link below tells you more about it.

You'll get a letter through for your ENT appointment, my appointment was pretty quick (about 6 weeks). They'll look in both ears, do a hearing test (which is sitting in a big room and seeing if they notice sounds coming from either side of the room). They mentioned doing some pressure test in the ears too but my DD was too distressed with just having the consultant look inside her ears. I was given long term antibiotics to be reviewed in 3 months. DD is under 2 and has had 9 or 10 infections since April.

Thanks for your replies :)

I just wasn't sure what to expect at the appointment it's my own fault for sending dh to the doctors than myself 🙄😅

They should also check for glue ear as well. Nothing that's scary or hurts don't worry
