Chicken pox

My little one has woken up with chicken pox. She has a nasty spot on her top lip. Any tips for making her more comfortable? I was going to do an oat bath and camomile lotion plus paracetamol. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks xx

Do you mean calamine lotion?
Think theres a couple of other products these days e.g. poxclin, virasoothe that are supposed to be good for the spots

If they are itchy then you can give piriton antihistamine (if age 1+).

And avoid ibuprofen as it can cause skin reactions with CP

Trimmed fingernails and possibly even gloves on... my daughter was excellent and resisted, my son has faint scars all over his torso.

@dementedpixie yes I did mean that. At present she is absolutely fine, running around being a fairy. Fingers crossed she stays this way.
