My 21 month old DD has a rash. I noticed it on Saturday, thought it might be chickenpox and went to pharmacy who said it doesn’t look like chickenpox, could be an allergic reaction and to take Piriton.
Piriton didn’t help so I did an econsult with the doctor this morning assuming they’d get her in to see it. The doctor called at 4pm saying it’s chickenpox. I asked how they knew that as- the rash is only on bottom, arms and legs (not torso, hands, feet, mouth), she has no temperature, the spots aren’t itchy/she isn’t scratching them, her appetite is fine. Doctor said to treat like chickenpox anyway but didn’t answer my questions.
Took her to another pharmacist to gat calamine lotion. He looked and again saw it doesn’t look like chickenpox. I’m inclined to believe the two pharmacists who’ve seen it rather than a GP who hasn’t seen anything other than the attached photos but am I wrong?

Hand foot and mouth can present on the bottom and legs. Pictures aren't very clear but doesn't sound like chicken pox.

P.s. they wouldn't want a child with chicken pox to come in as it's very contagious.

That makes sense @dementedpixie, thought it looked more like those spots but did know it could present elsewhere. Was a bit worried as the doctor hadn’t seen it but understand about the risk of infection, thank you 😊
