8 year old constant tummy aches

Hey - my ds 8, has suffered with tummy aches on and off for a couple of years but recently they are getting worse and more frequent . Have been to GP a couple of times and had stool sample but nothing of note and they just say children get tummy aches. He has missed quite a bit of school and is off again saying it's a stabbing pain round his belly button. At a loss how to help - could it be a Food intolerance or some kind of ibs? Anyone any experience if either of these And if they cause tummy aches as a symptom?

My daughter had constantly stomach ache after eating, we took her to the doctor, they checked her poo, did not find anything.

So they suggested to buy lactose free milk and try, and it seems to be working for us at the moment.

I think migraines can present as tummy pain in children.

Hello. Has he been checked for coeliac disease? My dd had this and was diagnosed with coeliac.

Thanks all - yes has been checked for coeliac as part of different investigations a while ago. I did wonder about lactose.. might try different milk ....

I had constant stomach ache when growing up, poor appetite and could gain weight. I was intolerant to dairy. I would try cutting out dairy for a week, then gluten the following week and see if any improvement.
