Similar age 9 in March - she's about 130 maybe a little over... average to taller end of girls in her class

Mum2girlsx3 · 29/08/2021 11:12

My dd is diddy as in slim as well, I’m average height 5’5 DH 5’11, my mum only 5’2 though and his mum 5’3!!

She'll probably end up somewhere in between you & DH

JuliaBlackberry · 29/08/2021 11:20

I've got a giant one - she's 9 in November and is 141cm. I was like that as a kid though and then stopped growing by about year 7; my friends all then caught up and we all ended up about the same, between 5'4 and 5'7 as adults. I think they're all so different at this age.

StarStarTeachMe · 29/08/2021 11:21

137cm

You can check the nhs growth charts for what percentile she is...

And if she's coming out of clothes to know she's growing even if slowly...

monogoo · 29/08/2021 11:49

I was average ish height until about 13/14 when I had big growth spurt (I'm 5ft 9), DH also grew late but we have tall parents.

Mum2girlsx3 · 29/08/2021 11:55

Well she’s gone from age 6-7 clothes last summer to 7-8 this year so that’s good!!

My 9 year old is 5ft 3, size 5 feet. She's 10 in Sept. Her Dad is 6ft 3 and I'm 5ft 7

ExplodingCarrots · 29/08/2021 12:08

DD turning 8 in a couple of days is 144cm. She's very tall compared to her friends. She said she's sick of people calling her 'big' bless her.

Maybeyesno · 29/08/2021 12:09

My dd is now 12 and up until last year she was always smallest in her class /wearing clothes a year or two younger than her actual age. She seems to have had a really big growth spurt this last year and is now in clothes for her age group and her shoe size has gone up two sizes. She seems about average in her class now.
Her best friend is very tall - totally opposite to dd.
Everyone is different and grow at different rates I wouldn't worry at this age.

chinateapot · 29/08/2021 12:14

Mine is 120cm and 9 in October. She’s growing. I’m small and her dad is average height so unsurprising. She’s small for her age but on the centile charts. I’m not worried about her... are you concerned about yours?

Mum2girlsx3 · 29/08/2021 12:31

No not worried I just noticed it more when we went to a theme park with her friends and she couldn’t get on rides they could because of height restrictions!! She’s absolutely fine in every other way!

Mum2girlsx3 · 29/08/2021 21:13

If you want to see the spread of heights at a given age check out the growth charts eg www.rcpch.ac.uk/resources/uk-who-growth-charts-2-18-years

By definition there will be a load of healthy children of lower height for age so it isn't anything to worry about inherently and mainly related to genetics and when you get your different hormonal peaks that drive growth.

9 -137
