When is too late to introduce white noise?

I've never used white noise with my son and he's now 9 months old. Recently he's brought himself out of his routine and he's waking up a lot throughout the night, maybe due to a sleep regression. I know that some adults actually use white noise themselves to help them sleep but at 9 almost ten months is it too late to start using white noise to settle him? As I know it's supposed to resemble what they hear in the womb and calm them but obviously that was probably too long ago now for him to remember.

It'd probably be too long ago for it to remind him of the womb, but he might find it soothing anyway - some people do. You can give it a try!
