Sick 17mth old lost his appetite

My 17mth old has a cold and hasn't been eating as much as normal over that last two days. He loves his food and will even beg for it from other family members so this is really out of character for him. This morning he's refused to eat his breakfast, SO put a piece of banana in his mouth and he just cried till SO picked him up at which point DS spat out the banana on his shoulder. He will drink milk though from his bottle so we've been giving him some full fat milk after meals when we've felt he's not eaten enough.

Does anyone know if there is some kind of meal replacement drink I can give him if his loss of appetite carries on? Or anything else I can give him to make sure he's getting enough calories and nutrients? I do give him multivitamin supplements everyday.

Try not to worry - he will catch up on the calories when he’s feeling better, just make sure he’s drinking plenty of fluids. Don’t force him to eat, just offer light food and when he’s on the mend he will accept it,
