My sons impetigo has come back for a third time in the same place on his body (left armpit/torso/underside of left arm) we are currently on our third round of flucloxacillin and this time we have been given a nasal ointment to kill any bacteria living up the nose. This doesn't really make sense to me because its not actually on his face but we are doing the ointment.
FUCIDIN H cream did absolutely nothing we were prescribed this first of all before any antibiotics and we've still been applying it alongside antibiotics and washing all his bedding etc...
From googling I think we might need to request a swab to be taken next as I'm predicting the impetigo will just flare up again as soon as antibiotics are finished. New little red dots have appeared but the antibiotics do seem to clear up the big crusty sores and keep it all at bay.
Does anyone have any ideas/experiences of this? I am so stressed about it now. My son is 4 if that matters
