My son has always had rough skin at the tops of legs and arms and his cheeks on his face. He often get a spotty bottom but lately keeps getting white heads. Always on legs… tops of thighs or backs of calves. They go after a while but keep returning. They don’t bother him but wondered if anyone has experience?

Have you tried child’s farm moisturiser?

Eilatan2018 · 03/08/2021 20:26

I haven’t but will definitely give it a try. It’s weird as I’d assume that would make it worse if there are white heads? Wondered if the white heads were normal? They look so angry and sore but then just disappear!

Me and DD have this. It is just your body producing too much keratin around the hair follicles which result in white heads. No cure but also nothing to worry about, just not very aesthetic. My mum also had it (it's gone now) and says she used to scrub her arms with a pumice stone when she was younger to get rid of it! 🙈

My Ds gets its and it goes the same. The best thing he's found is using the shampoo he was prescribed for seborrheic dermatitis. It's got selenium in and I think that's the thing that's helped.

The Child's Farm moisturiser works well for my son.

My DS was prescribed Aquadrate cream for this by hospital dermatology department. It improves the appearance/feel significantly but it does return if you discontinue use.

Thanks so much everyone thats reassuring! He’s always had the rough skin then started getting white heads and when I googled, I scared myself! Sounds related and given it keeps disappearing and returning, it must be that! Thanks again all!
