Threadworms 5 days after ovex

DS is 8 and has had threadworms before that were successfully treated after ovex. However, 5 days later and he's still suffering at bedtime. Last night there were 3 or 4 wriggling around his bottom, tonight only 1, but very much alive. I've changed his sheets etc again tonight.

Can I give him another dose of ovex yet?

I would check with either a pharmacist or GP before giving another dose. Bless him, they are horrible, hope he feels better soon.

Thanks oldbones. He has sensory issues and gets exceptionally distressed by the sensation, we're at our wits end with it.

Hi, did you give another dose of ovex? Was wondering the same thing? Thank you

My 7yo has had threadworm quite few times. Think it says to retreat after 2 weeks if worms still showing? Can you check the box?

Hi, thanks for replying. Yes the box just says retreat after 2 weeks, I have read that some have taken more doses, but also read the worms can become immune to it, whether that is true I don't know, but probably unlikely if only taken once. Maybe I will call the pharmacy.
