7 month old stomach bug

After some words of wisdom...

7 month old formula fed baby has a stomach bug...

We have just arrived on holiday in Majorca to complicate matters. She threw up yesterday lunchtime then seemed fine until the evening when she started throwing up all her feeds. I've tried to keep up with little and often today. Sometimes it seems to stay down but mostly it's all coming back up. She had a wet nappy at 7am and 3pm and yucky green poo twice today too. I've not offered solids.

She seems happy in herself and no more sleepy than usual, but is moaning constantly to be fed, which she then more often than not throws up. I'm worried that it's now persisted more than 24 hours and the wet nappies are getting a bit scant. When should we see a doctor? Should I be giving water? If so, I don't have a kettle in the room - is bottled water ok or should I get some boiled from a nearby restaurant?

Just to make things more fun, my husband also now seems to have the same big... urgh...

Are you breastfeeding or formula?

Misp · 16/07/2021 18:38

Ignore that. Can see you’ve already said!

Yep formula - annoyingly I was breastfeeding until a few weeks ago - feel like it would be much easier right now if I hadn't!

Get some bottled water and give that as well as she will need to stay hydrated in that heat.

Thanks - she's asleep now so just dream fed her some cooked boiled water. Will give her a bit more through the night instead of formula. I don't remember my son ever having a stomach bug as a baby so all new!

How is your little one now OP?

ilovepinkjelly · 18/07/2021 09:18

Much better - thank you for asking! She's not been sick since yesterday lunchtime and her nappies are better... still not really interested in solids but I'm hoping she's on the mend at last!

Thank you for all your help x
