Ill on holiday

Bit of a conundrum...WWYD

We came on holiday to Devon(2.5 HR drive) on Friday. One afternoon at beach, trip to harbour and two days in my son became ill. Croup, hayfaver, tonsillitis... Barely sleeping. Ended up in a&e last night after speaking to 111 as we couldn't wake him from his nap.

No medication given, advised he has tonsillitis and is dehydrated so to get as many fluids in him as we can. This is going well and he seems brighter this morning ( Thursday) but still has a horrid cough and is complaining of a sore throat and chest (from coughing)

We stayed here when he became unwell in the hope it was just a cold and we would still get to enjoy the rest of the holiday however I'm now wondering if he'll be well enough to go to the beach etc before we are due to go home on Sunday.

We are staying in a nice house and have everything we need so we are comfortable. I just don't know what to do

Provided he’s not getting worse and seems to be getting better I think I would stay put. Uprooting at this stage to travel home could be harder on him. Could you tailor your holiday to suit the fact that he’s poorly? Maybe not ideal but play some games in the house? Get some nice food in for dinner and watch some movies?

I'd stay put and let him recover a bit, travelling when you feel unwell is rough. I hope he feels better soon (my children are both asthmatic and I could guarantee one of them would always get sick when we went on holiday, it's pants isn't it)
