DS has just turned 2. We’re waiting for a referral to SALT as he’s not speaking. He should be saying around 75 words consistently, but he doesn’t even say 5.

He called me mama for the first time a few days ago, but only in a moment and since then it’s back to ‘blah’.

There are no other development concerns - hearing tests are fine, he’s able to play appropriately, understands and follows instructions etc. It’s just, he doesn’t have words.

Has anyone else had a similar experience? The HV was concerned so I’m starting to worry now Sad

My DD had other health issues and language delay. SLT worked wonders. Don’t worry.
