Does this sound like CMPA?

I'm losing my mind with DD!

She is nearly 9 months. She was ebf and now on BF and solids. When she was tiny she seemed v unsettled and it seemed there was a bit of a correlation with dairy so i cut dairy, soya and egg out of my diet. She never had any rash or any nappies that really gave me concern

But I worry that in will create an intolerance by not trying her with dairy and if she isnt intolerant then both of us avoiding it is unnecessary. I started on the milk ladder. One week of stage 1 went brilliantly, she slept better than she ever has and seemed fine. Then literally day one of stage 2 we had an awful awful night and she is very snotty and has a cough. There also appears to be a top tooth appearing.

I dont know what to do. Do I keep going and assume this is a cold or do I stop it all?.

I just dont know what to do

Hi OP, did you have any advice off a dietician when you were removing those things from your diet? General advice is not to try the milk ladder before 12 months with cmpa babies but personally as you’ve done step 1 I would probably go back down to step 1 and wait a few weeks for any teeth to cut or cold to run it’s course and then try step 2 again. If you get a similar reaction you know it’s linked and if no reaction you can continue with the milk ladder.

If you’re on Facebook there are a lot of CMPA breastfeeding and weaning groups that are very informative with a lot of knowledgeable parents on.

Hope your DD feels better soon

Brilliant thank you. Literally no medical help at all, dr just said if I thought she had CMPA I should just cut it out and try it every now and again...

Is there anything else I can give her for stage 1? I dont really want her to have biscuits every day!

I think it’s just biscuits but we haven’t actually started the milk ladder ourselves yet. Definitely join some groups on Facebook if you can as you’ll get loads of really experienced parents able to give advice Smile
