Rash, cough and raised temperature

My 8 month old has had a cough for about a week now. Nothing too serious and it's not being affecting his breathing. But last night he was really irritable, moving around making noises in his sleep and waking every few minutes. I got him out of his bed and he was burning hot (he'd only been wearing a vest and nappy) so I stripped him down to his nappy and gave him some calpol and not too long after he cooled down and went back to sleep. This morning I've kept him in just his nappy but as I went to bath him I noticed a rash over his stomach. It mostly disappears when you press a glass against it and isn't red, purple blood spots. Also since yesterday he's not finished one full bottle of his formula which he normally does in minutes.

After waiting an hour for the doctors to pick up and no reply I eventually got through to NHS 111. They've just told me to keep him cool and ensure he doesn't get any worse but no one has asked to see him.

I'll attach the pictures can anyone tell me what this could be please? I'm pretty sure it's just viral but can't help but worry when it comes to a rash. In himself apart from not drinking all his milk he seems fine.

If you are worried OP, then take him to A&E

Looks like a viral rash to me. But I get that they are a worry when your baby is small.

Aww bless him. But yes looks viral to me.

I think the advice with a fever is that you shouldn't strip the baby. I'd pop some clothes back on him.

NHS 111 told me to strip him down to his nappy then afterwards just keep him in a T-shirt. Only advice they gave was to never try to cool them down with water or anything cold. Yep pretty sure it's viral there's a lot going round at the moment and he was also sick last night but had been off his milk all day. He's still asleep at the moment but I'll see how he goes today. Fingers crossed he'll be feeling better.
