Hello my lovely ladies,it seems that in our house lately things keep happening..yesterday we found out that our 2.5 year old son has a round worm aka ascaris? In his small intestine! Doctor gave us therapy. Is it something serious? Does it clear easily? Any experiences would be really helpful! TIA Chara. ❤️

Yep, my son and nephew had this. We had the worming medicine (Ovex) for the whole family. It was a course over 3 days I think. It was a diff dose for thread worms, and the GP prescribed it.
The children picked it up on the farm, playing where the pigs had been. They were playing out a lot, and at that age not washing hands/putting hands in their mouths etc. No side effects from the medication.
My nephew had a long worm (good few inches come out of his anus) so was treated. The worm was tested.
My son was 4 at the time, and was eating less/sleeping lots. Had gone back to long afternoon naps, and really poor food intake. I took him to the doctors. He was fine after the medication. He did need another course a while later.
My nephew was fine after one course of medication.
After that I used to regularly worm the children, using Ovex over the counter, twice a year until they were about 9.
I bought sweets, and they had a sweet after they tablet so it made the taste a bit better!

@BlueistheNewmehi :) was it roundworm or threadworms? I think you said threadworms?

It was roundworm.

The medication for roundworm and threadworm are the same. But the dose (amount of tablets/liquid) was different.
