Hi, DD has come out in this really strange looking rash.

It's not raised or dry / flaky and doesn't seem to be causing her any discomfort. She doesn't have a temperature.

It started in her legs and arms this morning (it's gone from there now) and now it's appeared on her torso , lower back and her nappy area.

I went to the doctors this morning and he passed it off viral due to her having the sniffles and being a little chesty (but she's often got the sniffles and a cough though and has done since birth TBH)

Its freaking me out as it's coming and going I've never seen or experienced anything similar.

Does anyone have experience?

DS has just had v similar rash with sniffle.
Dr said she’s seen this a lot recently and it’s viral.
Rash went away after a week. Don’t worry. X

Hi OP,

Yep looks like ringworm: www.nhs.uk/conditions/ringworm/

DS had this, I just showed them at Boots and they provided some Canesten cream, had to apply with a cotton bud couple of times a day for two weeks. Never ended up going to the GP as it was so obvious to the pharmacist ans they didn't need a clinical referral for it.

Thank you! Did your DS come and go quickly in different areas? X

I thought initially that’s what it was but it’s not dry, raised or scaley and it’s totally disappeared from where it was this morning x

It'll be hives - overactive immature immune system responding to a virus. Common in toddlers.

It looks like ringworm but ringworm doesn’t come and go like that. I’ve had ringworm and the skin was raised, flaky, intensely itchy, and stayed in the same place for several weeks. It could quite possible be hives though.
