4 year old boy- UTI?

My 4 and a half year-old is fully toilet trained and has been going to the toilet for wees independently for about a year or more. Over the last 4 or 5 days he’s been going for a wee then less than 5 minutes later saying he needs another one, only a dribble comes out and he’s back again 5 minutes later. He’s wet himself several times over the weekend too. This is very familiar to me as a UTI symptom but he says no stinging when he wees and there is no smell or blood that I can see. He has no temp and is fine in himself apart from growing anxiety about wetting himself. In the end we suggested he wear a nappy while playing as he was just constantly back and forward to the loo. (We have them for night time). I’ve called the GP and waiting for a phone appt but just wondered if anyone else had experience of this, particularly in a boy? I read that UTIs are less common in boys.

I had a severe kidney infection that had me hospitalised for 2 weeks no one could understand how it never burned when I did a wee but it never did. Also my ds had maybe 3 Utis before he was 3 so definitely possible you should be able to pick up a urine sample pot from the gp hand it in then wait for a phone call after they’ve dipped it if they have no apts.
