Crusty impetigo on dd8 face.

Hi,
On Tuesday a pharmacist said my child had impetigo and gave us a cream for it. It was Crystacide. Despite using it, the spot has got bigger and worse and so we went to the doctor this morning. He has now prescribed Fucidin with instruction to return if no improvement.

I forgot to ask, should I be trying to remove the crust to get the cream on skin beneath? Should I be covering it? Any experience Anyone?

When I had impetigo I needed oral antibiotics and a cream. Maybe a call to GP?

Thanks Northern, saw our doc this morning who’s happy for antibiotic cream for now. Does seem to be working well after a couple of applications.
