DS limping

Just wondering if anyone has had similar with their dc and can advise. My DS aged 2.5 has been limping on and off for over a month. When it first started we were sent to A&E for foot x ray which showed nothing. We then went back to doctor who diagnosed irritable hip.

I’m really not convinced with this diagnoses. He’s only ever said his foot hurts, occasionally his leg but never complained of hip pain. They didn’t do any scans or blood tests on his hip either to confirm it/ rule anything else out. When he limps he walks with his foot on the side and turned in. He often asks to be carried as he’s in too much pain. He’s otherwise fine in himself but I just feel something else is going on, I’ve raised this with a doctor and they’ve just said irritable hip can take a while to get better. Anyone have any ideas? Or can reassure me that it is irritable hip! Thank you

with children that young it can be anywhere on the leg.

looks like he needs a referral to rheumatology.

have a look at crmo if that fits the symptoms
(even though he is very young for that)

good luck!

Hi thanks for responding.
I’ve taken a look and It does fit the symptoms of crmo. I’m going to try and get seen by a doctor next week so I’ll mention that. He is in a lot of pain so hopefully they will see him!
