Is this growing pains again?

Sorry - duplicate post as I previously posted this with my username as the title🙄

I've posted before about DS, 7, having leg pain - once over a year ago and another time a few months back. It went away on its own so I assumed growing pains.

He's got a similar problem again. Both legs are aching. They ache at night and sometimes in the morning. He also says they hurt during the day sometimes. He says it hurts when he puts his foot down to walk but he's not limping or walking weirdly at all. He says his belly hurts too.

It's not bad enough to stop him doing any activities and he's well otherwise. In fact he plays a lot of sport at the moment - around 4 times a week on top of PE. Does this sound like growing pains again? I'm sorry if this sounds like a silly post- I just get very anxious about my children's health, in particular.

Hi,

Did you get any answers with this? My Son is having a similar problem. A while, on and off he’s been complaining of pain in his knee and down his shin into his foot. But only on one leg at a time. Teacher said she noticed him limping after running. GP has checked his blood count and for any swollen lymph nodes or organs, I guess to rule out anything more sinister. He now has an X-ray next week. Hope you get some answers!

Is he hypermobile? I remember similar pains as a child very vividly. They were always put down to 'growing pains' by my mum and were worse as I hit puberty.
Years later I was diagnosed as having fairly significant hypermobility and it all made sense. Might be worth getting him checked by a rheumatologist if it continues.

I had these skins in my thighs for quite a few weeks when I was 12 years older. I've never forgotten it, but I don't remember telling my mum about it, not sure why I didn't, but they were bad enough to make running uncomfortable

Pains, not skins

Hi. Spoke with Dr who said he thinks it's growing pains. He asked if there was any swelling or heat in the joints which there isn't and said it's fine to manage with calpol but if it persisted, the next step would be blood tests. He's not complained for a couple of weeks and actually he has done less sport in that time so I'm thinking it's growing pains/muscle pain from sport.

@Natty281 hope your son is OK- let us know how you get on.
