I've posted before about DS, 7, having leg pain - once over a year ago and another time a few months back. It went away on its own so I assumed growing pains.

He's got a similar problem again. Both legs are aching. They ache at night and sometimes in the morning. He also says they hurt during the day sometimes. He says it hurts when he puts his foot down to walk but he's not limping or walking weirdly at all. He says his belly hurts too.

It's not bad enough to stop him doing any activities and he's well otherwise. In fact he plays a lot of sport at the moment - around 4 times a week on top of PE. Does this sound like growing pains again? I'm sorry if this sounds like a silly post- I just get very anxious about my children's health, in particular.

It sounds like you're concerned about him so the best thing to do would be to discuss it properly with your GP as they will have the full history. If you're worried enough to post online, it's worth getting him checked out. I mean this kindly. It sounds like it's really worrying you so talk it through with your GP. They're very much open throughout the pandemic ❤️

Thank you. You're right. And Im not saying you were implying this but just to say, I would never rely on info on a forum instead of from a GP. I just wish I could be one of those parents who just seem to be able to tell when their kid's health problem isn't serious and be confident in their decision rather than be crippled with worry every time.

Try not to beat yourself up over that! I think we all do it. I say this as a doctor who worries every time my own have anything at all. It's hard to be rational with your own children for most people. Forums are great but nobody can know all the details and piece it all together like your own GP can to hopefully reassure you. It sounds like you're worried and for your own peace of mind, it's worth discussing.

Thank you. Does make me feel a little better that you're a GP but you worry too.
