15 year old PMT

I'm hoping for some guidance please. My 15 year old daughter has awful pmt & very heavy periods resulting in various absences from school which I obviously do not want.

My GP initially prescribed the mini pill, she had awful side effects. She was then prescribed Levest which she tolerated the the weight gain was noticeable.

I take Yasmin - which I found wonderful for my PMT. My friend works in family planning and she says it's the 'best' combined pill but it's not initially prescribed due to it being expensive.

My question is can I request my daughter is started on this pill too. I'm aware that it may not be effective for her as it is for me but I'm willing to try!

Or does anyone have any other suggestions? Her entire life is impacted by her period.

Thank you

I don't have any alternative suggestions but there is no harm asking the GP to prescribe her the same pill. If what she's on is negatively impacting her, the GP should look at other options.

Yes I think I’ll ask him. Although in my experience GP’s don’t really have much experience surrounding PMT & periods. My daughter is suffering and I just get pills thrown at me with no real questions
