Swollen, red hands - reaction from cat scratch 2 weeks ago?

My SD has red hands that are swollen. They showed up on Tuesday night. She was seen by a GP late this week. GP has said could be allergic reaction from a very very minor cat scratch 2 weeks ago which was at the top of her arm. She has been given clarithromycin. Does this seem likely?
I've attached a pic of her hands. Both hands the same. The circle shows where the red ends and the normal white of her hands begins.

It’s good that she’s been given an antibiotic, if it’s an infection then antibiotics should soon clear it up. Important that she takes the full course though. You can get skin infections from any little break in the skin so could be the cat scratch or could be any graze or cut/bug bite.

Would it not be around the site of the scratch though rather than in a completely different place?

Yes I would’ve thought so. But maybe she has a small wound somewhere near the infection?
