Help my child stop coughing

DD is 3 and she's had a cough for ages, a week before Easter I took her for a Covid test and it was negative, it was calming down but now it's really bad again to the point she's making herself sick, can't sleep and keeps getting upset!
She's been seen by a doctor who confirmed it was just a viral thing but are there any remedies to help her?

My 2 are coughing away like mad at the moment. I find a humidifier helps at night. Not much else you can do really.

We use a Vicks humidifier at night when DCs have a cough, which gives off a minty steam. We also give them Broncho Stop Junior and rub Vicks Vapour Rub into their back, chest, and feet (check the minimum age for the latter though before using).

Check with a pharmacist but it could be hay-fever. Mine causes me to cough horrifically, don't have any issues with my nose or eyes but it does make my throat tickle (I'm also asthmatic). I would try a child antihistamine to see if it helps

Mine started with the hay fever cough a couple of weeks ago, me too. Coughing at night can be a symptom of asthma though.
