Toddler irritable and sleeping a lot

Hi all. DD was two last month and hasn't regularly napped in the day since she was around 18 months old. She sleeps 12 hours at night.

Recently, she's been utterly knackered by around midday and taking herself to bed for a nap! This can last anywhere from 1-2 hours. This is on top of 12 hours at night.

She's also been quite hard work recently, quite irritable and prone to crying/whinging fits (I don't know if this is just typical toddler behaviour kicking in though!). She's normally quite placid and happy but not over the past few days!

I don't think she's ill as she doesn't have a temperature and is eating and drinking normally. Growth spurt? She does have two teeth coming as well, not sure if that may be contributing.

Thanks Smile

I think I might try giving calpol or nurofen at night in case her teeth aren't bothering her and disturbing her sleep. If she's grumpy in the day too she might be uncomfortable.

If she carries on being much more tired than usual I would get her seen by the GP to rule out anything medical like low iron etc.

I hope she bounces back soon!
