5yo blood tests for bruises

Hi all!
My daughter has been referred for blood tests due to bruised legs! I sent a photo to the GP a month ago because I was concerned (20 odd small bruises on her shins) but she is very active and clumsy! I received a phone call to say they looked fine and then they faded so I felt a bit silly!
But they seem to have come back and I had a phone call today from another GP saying he saw the photos and he thinks she needs blood tests today!
I’m petrified!! Has anyone’s children had this and what was the outcome? I’m obviously thinking the worst!

It depends a little bit on any other features of the history but if she is otherwise well they are likely doing it just to be thorough. It's a fairly typical location for bruises at that age. The probable blood tests are a full blood count (checking the different types of blood cell are present and correct), and a clotting test (checks the proteins that control clotting in the blood).

Likeliest outcome: no abnormalities, carry on as before.
Next likeliest: low platelet count, this can be temporary or longer-lasting but tends to be an isolated, benign problem.

Unlikely but important: more significant clotting or blood cell line problem. This category does include blood cancers which is worth mentioning as Google will probably have told you already. This is extremely unlikely in an otherwise well child with no symptoms except easy bruising in a typical location. If the blood tests suggest this in any way a specialist haematologist will look at the cells directly under a microscope and urgent action taken, this part of the system tends to be quite a well oiled machine so no news is good news in that respect.

Thanks so much I really appreciate you responding! If I’m completely honest I have slight health anxiety which is probably the reason for sending the photos to the doctor in the first place so the worst always comes to mind!
Your reply is exactly what I’ve been looking for on google or but haven’t been able to find so it’s really appreciated! It actually would have been nice for the doctor to explain this.
She does have a spider anigoma on her face (for a few years now) but it is getting bigger and I mentioned that! Although I don’t think that’s a connection even though it’s blood related.

Did you find out what was it in your case?
