Annie woke up Sunday sniffling and at first I thought a cold.
Yesterday when she was out in the garden I noticed she was sniffling. I asked if she had been sniffling in school and she said not really in class but was a bit when out playing.
She's had hayfever (not formally diagnosed) since about 5 or 6 when we when we went to the doctors who said it sounds like hayfever and so we proceeded to treat with pirition etc every year.
I don't recall her sniffling so early in the year before, I thought it was more around May but with having been in this time last year I may have forgotten and perhaps it did start earlier.
Also do you give your children piriton etc everyday or just on high/very high pollen days. We use to give it to DD only on high/very high days but wonder if we should now be giving it her daily from now until September?

I would be Interested to know too. My ds who is 4 has started to suffer terribly this week and has not previously had hayfever. I think it must be extremely high this year and earlier too .

Start now and give it every day.

Loratadine - I think that’s how you spell it - is recommended for children. One dose every 24 hours. The pollen is very bad this year. Your gp can prescribe it or get it at the pharmacy.

You might want to try loratadine liquid instead as I think that's non drowsy.

I always have hay fever in March for a couple of weeks then it's gone and I don't have it during the rest of the summer.

When I left for work on Thursday I was completely fine but minutes after being there I was knocked sideways with hay fever. I could not stop sneezing.

When my class arrived one child also started sneezing and she was completely fine when she got there. We kept bumping into each other at the tissue box. I sneezed constantly all day and as soon as I got home I stopped and I haven't sneezed since.
