Daughters forehead issue

Hi All,

Thanks for your time.

About a year ago we noticed these marks on our daughters head that were little blotches that seemingly darkened when outside.

We have noticed that they have seemingly spread and have got worse this year.

We have previously seen a dermatologist and went to the GP but they were not too concerned. I have gone back and asked for a further session because the issue has worsened.

Does anyone have any clue as to what could be causing it?

It doesn't bother her and she is a perfectly healthy little girl but i worry that it's getting worse and potentially causing long term damage.

Thanks

I would maybe make sure she always wears sun protection on her face as it could be sun damage

Yes that's a very good point and it is something we do currently do, with the highest factor we have (50 i think).

Could this be Melasma?

I don't know what is causing it but I have similar on my forehead although much darker and in a bigger patch. Mine gets worse in the sun, but also when my vit D is very low - I do take supplements so my level did go up somewhat but it is still noticeable.

Thanks for your response.

That’s what my own (google) research is leading me to believe. If that is the case then I think that is a manageable condition and my worrying can calm down!
