Toddler breathing

Hi my DD has just turned 3, she’s currently having speech therapy and she asked if she had a cold the other week (which she didn’t) she said she sounded nasally. I have noticed in the past that she does breathe out of her mouth a lot, she sounds like she’s puffing (like she’s been holding her breath and then let it out to breathe again) sometimes family asked if she was filling her nappy, but she wasn’t, it’s just the way she breathes. It’s started to play on my mind a bit now since the speech therapist brought it up, she is visiting us again on Wednesday so I’m not sure whether to bring it up with her or just go straight to GP?

I would just ring gp tomorrow and get apt for tomorrow if you’re worried. My dp has similar problem all his life, has op to try and widen nasal tubes, possibly something similar? X

Do both - mention to the speech therapist and see the GP. You don;t know what is relevant to speech therapy and it will take only 30 secnds to explain.

THen see the GP to rule out anything medical.
