Reflux

Wondering if anyone can help me at all? My lb is 8 weeks old, diagnosed with cmpa since 3 weeks old but has really bad reflux. First we were prescribed gaviscon infant and it made him constipated and didn't help the reflux, he was then prescribed omeprazole but was still in alot of discomfort so hv advised to add carobel. Carobel really helped the vomiting and spit up but gave him explosive, stringy diarrhoea. Gp said in Friday to stop carobel and try the gaviscon alongside omeprazole. He's now done a 360 and has constipation again (assuming the gaviscon). The past 2 nights I've had to keep him upright all night as the minute he lays down he starts to choke on acid etc.. I've tried tilting the next 2 me and also bought a reflux wedge for under his sheet which is not helping. He is in so much discomfort after every feed I'm at my wits end and I'm now having to sit up all night to keep him upright. He's only been on omeprazole for a week and a half..I know sometimes it can take weeks to work

You don't mention what sort of milk he's on, if he's got CMPA?

Are you bf or using prescription formula? Has he been weighed again since being prescribed omeprazole as it’s weight dependent and they grow quickly. Gaviscon works in a different way to omeprazole and they don’t complement each other.

Also, are you certain he’s constipated? Gaviscon gives firm, solid poo but if it’s regular, then he might not be constipated. And if you are bf, it can be normal to go over a week without a poo.
