Torticollis?

My 18 week old has a slightly flat head on one side which the HV has said will correct once she's sitting and then crawling. I've been correcting her position a lot so she's not lying on just one side to help balance it out.

But I've noticed now I've been looking more closely and she's gained more neck control that she's definitely tilting her head most of the time. I think she has torticollis.

Should it be the GP or Hv I contact about this in the first instance? Obviously both are only over the phone at the moment.

My son had had a similar problem (flat head + kept his head tilted to one shoulder, HV advised to see a gp, GP wasn't too concerned but she referred him to pediatrician. He had a neck ultrasound to check his muscles, and it was all clear. His neck got better in a few months, his head is still a bit flat on one side but it's barely noticeable.

Thanks Subject, that's really reassuring. I went down a bit of a Google rabbithole and there was some scary stuff about links to learning disabilities.
I think I'll see if I can speak to the GP this week.

GP spoke to me on the phone today and said about exercises to make her look the other way which I've already been doing and to call back in a few weeks if I can't see an improvement. Fingers crossed it just works its way out as she starts sitting.

My DD had torticollis, it was picked up by the GP at her 8 week check. We were referred for physio every week for two months, and I was given exercises to do at home. The main exercise was to encourage her to move her head the other way by positioning anything interesting to her right and not her left. I also had to gently move her head, but you probably shouldn’t do this without checking with a medical professional first.

Thanks @DanielSpaniel - if it doesn't improve quickly I'll take her to the GP to be checked over. Nothing was noted at the 8 week check but it was so fast - literally ticking boxes as quickly as she could/
