Speech

My daughter is going to be 2 in April. She does not say much. A few clear words - no, oh no, thank you, bye, Hiya, go go, up. She loves nursery rhymes and tends to hum along. She does the actions for most of the songs.

What's baffling is she hears everything. If I say, go get your shoes...she goes and actually puts it on. if I say go get your water..she does! If I say go to daddy who might be in a different room she goes. But If she wants something she will take my hands and lead me to the place and point at what she wants. She just does not say much

Any parents experiencing this?

Exactly the same and DD is also 2 in April 😊 she understands everything, and We've noticed the last few weeks a lot more words are starting to appear.

I worked in EYFS for several years and it's not uncommon for speech to not be formed yet, so I wouldn't worry. If the understanding is there and you can hear new words being added to her vocabulary, she's doing fine 😊
