22 month old - Only 3 teeth

Has anyone else had a very late developer with their teeth? I have 22 month old twins, they were 6 weeks premature and came early as DT1 wasn't growing as expected.

She was a tiny 3lb when born but has since done really well despite still being on the 9th centile for weight (DT2 has no such problems and is on the 75th centile with almost all of her milk teeth through).

DT1 has just cut her 4th tooth (top front) I can see that the rest are there but are just very very slow at coming through. However at the moment she has a constant runny nose and snores like a pig at night. I'm putting this down to her teeth but I don't know whether to get her checked for allergies? She never used to be like this, really only since her teething really kicked in.

Has anyone had any similar experiences?

I think when they are teething they are more tired and a bit run down and probably a bit more prone to picking up bugs and things. That's what I'd expect anyway.

Bless her she is a bit slow with the teeth, have you been to the dentist and asked if there are any concerns? My dentist told me to book first appointment at one or when first teeth come through.

Definitely ask the dentist. Missing teeth is quite common I believe.

I have been to the dentist, or at least I tried to go and they wouldn't see me as I wasn't classed a an "urgent" case and that's all they were seeing at the time. They told me that they'd only be able to tell that she had teeth by giving her an x-ray and of course that was totally unfeasable.

I think I need to find a new dentist lol
