Hi my 14 year old has got spots on her face and across her back , I have spoken to the dr and she recommended products that contain Salicylic acid , have any of your teen suffered teen spots what would you recommend ?

My GP prescribed Duac. It worked like a miracle cure.

Sorry to hear that. If you do get Duac or anything with peroxide in it keep in mind that it bleaches cloth. So white pillow cases, towels and white shirt to sleep in are good.

I would go back to the GP. My DD developed mild acne at 14 and despite trying all sorts of skincare we couldn’t clear it. Doc was ambivalent initially but I managed to get her seen by another who immediately prescribed Duac and Lymecycline oral antibiotics for 3 months. That doc said she was strongly of the opinion that acne should be cleared quickly and not allowed to fester. She’s 16 now and still gets the odd hormonal breakout but on the whole has lovely skin. I was delighted as I suffered with adult acne and am left with horrible scarring so am hyper vigilant as a result.
