Is my baby getting a cold sore???

I’m so so worried, My boyfriends mum has kissed my baby when she has a cold sore! she didn’t realise the dangers but the damage is obviously done!! I take his temp evernight and it seems okay and looking out for blisters ect but today it looked red on edge of his mouth , could this be a cold sore??

Take a deep breath.

Everything will probably be fine - I understand the concern, but you also need to consider how you're going to live the rest of your life!

No ones going to be able to tell you from here so either upload a photo or make a gp appointment. How old is your baby?

Hi my baby is 6 weeks old on thursday, i’m not sure how to upload a picture on here, ive just joined?
I told my gp that he’s been kissed by someone with a cold sore whilst we was there for something else but didn’t seem phased. I’ve heard so many horror stories so it just scares me.

She says that she didn't but i only saw her kiss him on the side of the cheek quite close to his mouth though and that's when i said politely omg you shouldn't be kissing him with a cold sore.

I wouldn't worry yet. Just keep and eye on him. If this is your first, just get used to being worried about something all the time. It's so stressful and sad but it's true. There's alway something to be worried about with your kids.

Also your mil must be horrified and feel really embarrassed. Be gentle with her too. She didn't know.

Surely if you've suffered cold sores then you know they're contagious? I don't suffer from them, but I know that!!
