My DS who is about to be 10 has always suffered from bouts of infected impetiginous (is that a word?) eczema. From a few weeks old when his whole face was covered which was distressing. Since then he often get small little patches on his face. Once it morphed in to eczema herpeticum which was again awful. I am currently struggling to keep on top of an outbreak covering the whole of his bum with satellite spots all down the back of his thighs which began before Christmas. He's had lots of swabs and antibiotics and antivirals, antibiotic creams and I'm also armed with dermol and steroids. I 'hope' it's on the way out but it could equally be getting worse. I'm rash blind now I think
SO... here's my question if anyone's still with me
how the hell can I stop it happening??? It's drives me mad. Is there something I'm doing wrong? He's a ten year old boy so does spend a decent amount of time with his finger up his nose... He's had bloods which have come back fine. I just wonder if there's something that might help his immune system fight it off before it takes hold. Any thoughts welcome. I'm feeling a bit desperate and like a terrible mum. Thank you
