My son has had consistent diarreah for a good month (no other symptoms) eating normally etc

Stool sample shows inflammed bowel ahd he has been referred to peadiatric children's ward.

Has anyone had this with thier child?

Celiac runs in the family so not sure it couid be this?

Thanks

If coeliac disease runs in the family you must get him tested. Make sure he is eating gluten daily prior to a coeliac test, if you remove gluten before testing it could come back as negative for coeliac.

@farwin thanks - yes we arnt changing his diet yet.

Does celiac cause inflammed bowel?!

Ulcerative colitis is an inflamed bowl (IBD). Might we worthwhile checking that out.

@Miniwinnie thanks - he has an urgent appointment for Monday at the hospital, hoping for a quick diagnosis so I can stop the worry.

I've read up about colitis too, will mention on Monday.

To add - he is totally well in himself, eats / energy / healthy looking not lost weigh, also only has a very slight pain before needing the loo.

I probably wouid have no idea of this had he not been at home from school so much where I can monitor him!
