Hi mums, was wondering if anybody could relate or help. My son is 4 and a half and he keeps having accidents. Its not necessarily much but constantly has small poo skids or a bit in his pants. It has been going on for so long now i have taken him to the doctors and he has had blood tests so I know its nothing serious. Has anybody elses child had overflow constipation as I think it could be this. He does go to the toilet but this still continues and it seems to be an ongoing thing. Not sure if its now a habit or what. Any advice would be greatly appreciated xx

You need to read the ERIC website. They have a free help line.
Also google the Poo Nurses, read the information and watch the video all the way to the end. It is really good and will give you lots of information and advice.

Definitely eric.org.uk
Sounds like he needs a disimpaction regime of movicol/laxido.

Hi OP, we are going through the same with our DS who was four in December. He constantly leaks small amounts and seems unaware of doing so. We started to use movicol but he hates the taste of it so no we are having a go with lactulose in order to clear the blockage which is causing him to leak.
From what I have read this is very common and can take six months to remedy in a worst case scenario.
Not fun is it? I really want this sorted out before he starts school in September as I'm sure you must too.
