My child has had a sore mouth the past couple of days. Not eating very much at all. She’s also got red gums, little white lumps on her tongue and this on her lip. Is it herpes or is there another explanation?? Any one have any experience?

Maybe foot and mouth ? Herpes is more blister like

SameToo · 23/01/2021 12:43

I did think about. There’s no rash anywhere else that we’ve noticed. Can it just be the mouth that’s affected?

Poor thing. There have been some reports of strange oral symptoms in kids with covid, despite having no other problems.

hand foot and mouth? Check her fingers and toes really carefully for blisters. When my DD had it she had 1 tiny tiny blister on 1 toe. I went down with it and had 1 small blister on my hand, but my entire mouth blistered.I have never felt so ill in my entire life.

Thanks for all the responses. She has been Covid tested and it was negative. Took her to the urgent care centre. The doctor said it’s a viral infection and that he’s seen quite a few cases recently. Just have to wait for it to clear up.

Hope it clears up quickly. Mouth sores can be so painful.
