10 week poos

Hi,

Just wanted to check experiences with poos! My ten week old is exclusively breastfed and is pooing after almost every feed. Always several poos a day. Is this normal? I had read that many babies poo less at this stage and wanted to confirm this wasn't unusual?

She eats well and is at a decent weight etc. Been a bit snoozey today but no other unusual signs and she has always tended to do this many poos.

Thanks Smile

Firstly, congratulations on your new baby!

I have two children who were EBF. One used to go days without pooing. The other pooed multiple times a day (especially during or at the end of a feed). That baby is now 4 and I think it was just normal for them. I don’t think either is unusual as long as baby is gaining weight and there are no other concerns. From memory the frequency reduced and became more regular from about 6 months, when we introduced solids.

Enjoy your new baby.
