I've posted about this before but it's starting to drive me mad.
DD is 12 weeks. I dont know if she has reflux or not and if she does I dont know whether to medicate or not.
She shows all the symptoms of reflux- she sometimes makes a gulping sound even when not feeding. She often gets hiccups. Sometimes she will burp followed by a wet sound. Sometimes some clear fluid with bits of milk in comes up after a feed. She usually cries at the start of a feed. She is often unsettled before bed.
But. These arent all the time. I spoke to my gp when she was 7 weeks and they have me gaviscon- bloody nightmare getting her to take it. Then when it had taken me 5 hours to get her to sleep they gave me omeprazole. On the same night she napped much better and settled better so we weren't sure if the improvement was because of the drug or not. After a few days on omeprazole she started pooing loads and was v gassy. We stopped the omperazole, the poo went back to normal and she was still settled. Great!
But about a week ago the reflux symptoms have come back. GP says it sounds normal baby behaviour and medication isnt the way to go.
But I cant bear to think of her in pain. I don't know what to do.
