I think it’s colic but does anybody have anything that might help?

He’s been crying and thrashing around for hours now.

Have you eliminated things like a temperature?

Can be colic - try the rugby ball hold - they lay over your arm with your hand under their belly and their head up by the crook of your arm and legs dangling down.
