Chilblains?

Good evening

Approximately 2 weeks ago, the Dr diagnosed my 9 year old DD with 'cold damage' on her toes, we suspect caused by her feet getting wet and cold during PE outside in inadequate trainers. We have since bought new shoes and thermal socks to help going forward.

She has woken up for the last 3 nights with excruciating itching and burning on both feet. We're applying hydrocortisone cream and giving ibuprofen for the burning. Have also tried calamine lotion. None of it works and it takes 2-3 hours of crying before she eventually falls asleep from exhaustion.

Has anyone had chilblains before? Does this sound normal?

Any advice welcome.

Went to the Dr on Monday. Given epimax and sudocreme and almost a week later, we're still waking every night with extreme itching and burning. It hasn't improved. I have a 3 month old and am just exhausted with this all.

Have you tried Snowfire ointment. My dd had chillblaines and says it helps.

Zambuk ointment works. You can get it on Amazon. I have terrible circulation so I get chilblains easily. Put socks on after application or it makes a right mess of the sheets.

No, not yet. Epimax is an emollient too so I would imagine has a similar effect. I will give anything a try though so off to Google where I can buy it online.

Thank you. Does Zumbuk relieve the burning and itching? I'm looking for something with immediate relief.

Please may I ask how you got on? My 12 year old son has the same. Thank you!
